WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
From the Advance photos last week before Game of Thrones S06e04 aired, it was obvious a lot of loose ends were going to be tied up, addressed or at least brought to the forefront again.
We had not seen Littlefinger or Robin Arryn for a long time, and it seemed Peter Baelish still has a lot of influence over the little spoiled Lord. For once it is a good thing: they are going to send their army to help Jon Snow who is leaving the Wall, in his fight to win back the North and Winterfell. This brings up the tearful (mine) joyful (theirs) reunion between Jon Snow and half sister Sansa Stark Bolton. It has been a long time since an emotion like that moved me from a GoT episode.
Jon feels being killed is reason enough to break his vows as Lord Commander of the Watch, and I tend to agree! Sansa, Lady Brienne, Podrick, Melisandre (who now has pledged to do Jon Snow’s bidding forever as the chosen one) and probably Ser Davos Seaworth will leave with Jon to go south with their army of Wildings, led by Tormund Giantsbane, about 2,000 strong. The addition of army of Robin Arryn’s men will be welcomed. It isn’t quite certain how Edd is taking his newly appointed position as Commander and what his plans are.
Tyrion Lannister is trying to work some magic back in Meereen. The little dwarf man is a master at manipulation, and has a plan in the works to defeat the Sons of the Harpy. Since he un-collared the two captive dragons, nothing has happened yet, but I think we can be assured of their appearances soon.
Back in King’s Landing, Jaime and Cersei are still not giving up with trying to infiltrate the King’s small council. Finally, they have Kevan Lannister and Olenna Tyrell’s attention to try to overthrow the High Sparrow and his group to take charge and free Queen Margaery from bondage. Looks like a bloody war will be starting there soon.
Theon Greyjoy has made it home. His reunion with sister Yara was not going well at first; she resented his timely appearance after their father was killed and also brought up the fact she lost many men trying to help him at an earlier time. Theon has bridged the animosity by telling her he wants no title and wants to help her attain it.
That brings us to the last group of photos that was released last week; Jorah Mormont, Daario Naharis, Daenerys Targaryen, Dosh Khaleen and Khal Moro. What is happening to the Khalesi? Jorah and Daario have located her, stolen into the camp with a minimum of bloodshed and had a word with her. Viewers knew that something was brewing, but not since the birth of her dragons when Daenerys emerged unscathed from the fire has there been such a scene as what Game of Thrones S06e04 gave to us last night.
The beautiful Khalesi stood before Khal Moro and all his men and listened to their degrading drivel about what they would like to do to her with a serene expression on her face. When it was time, she put her hands on the closest burning hot fire pot with no indication of pain. One by one, she dumped over the firepots and burned up the entire group of men in screaming agony while Jorah and Daario watched from a distance hill in awe.
The scene of Game of Thrones s06e04 that ended the episode was awesome. As the building is engulfed in flames, with all inside it dead and burned EXCEPT Daenerys Targaryen, mother of dragons and perhaps to be queen of Westeros, walked out of the burning building, naked and spectacular. All who witnessed it bowed down in reverence including Jorah and Daario. It was a great ending for the episode.
